Nearly 200 Lebanon Valley College undergraduates–a record-breaking amount–from every academic department displayed their work to an audience of faculty, peers, trustees, administrators, industry reps, and friends of the College during the annual Inquiry Symposium held on April 14 in Sorrentino Gymnasium.

The purposes of the nursing honor society are to recognize superior achievement and the development of leadership qualities, to foster high professional standards, to encourage creative work and to strengthen commitment to the ideas and purposes of the nursing profession. Nursing students are eligible for membership if, at the end of the junior year they have a grade point average of 3.0 or better, are in the upper 35% of their nursing class.

Hard work in high school has paid off for college-bound seniors. The following students have earned Merit Scholarships to attend Alvernia University this fall.

Wilkes University honored freshmen students for academic excellence with induction into the Alpha Lambda Delta honor society on Feb. 6. Eligible students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher during their first term or year of college while enrolled full time are invited to join.

Bucknell University has released the dean's list for outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2015-16 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean's list recognition.

More than 30 Lebanon Valley College students completed Brave Zone Network Training during the fall semester. The program trains students to be walking advocates and allies for their peers of marginalized groups like students of color, members of the LGBT community, students of disability, as well as different religious groups.

More than 1,650 students have been named to the Fall 2015 Dean's List at Kutztown University. To be eligible for Dean's List, an undergraduate student must be registered for at least 12 credits and have a minimum grade point average of 3.60.

These students are in Student Senate during the 2015-2016 school year.

The Kutztown University Marching Unit (KUMU) has been selected as one of 17 bands to appear in the 2015 Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, Nov. 26, beginning at 8:30 a.m. With 150 members, KUMU is one of two bands from Pennsylvania and the only collegiate band in the parade. Now in its 96th year, the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade is the oldest Thanksgiving parade in the nation. The 1.4-mile parade route ends at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Lebanon Valley College welcomes its Legacy enrollees as part of the incoming Class of 2019. Legacy students - children of Lebanon Valley College graduates - receive a $2,500 scholarship each year.

Lebanon Valley College is recognizing its high-achieving first-year students for receiving scholarships from the College.

Approximately 300 students were eligible to walk in Coastal Carolina University's summer graduation ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 8, at the HTC Center. Pam Martin, Ph.D., professor of politics and international relations, discussed the true value of their diplomas as they begin a new chapter in their lives and placed the new graduates' achievement in a global perspective. "Slightly under 7 percent of the world's population has the degree that you have earned today," she said. "Sixty percent of your fellow U.S. citizens do not have such a degree. Given these statistics, it is clear that you have something to celebrate today!"

Emergent Scholars at Elizabethtown College have attained at least a 3.75 cumulative grade point average at the end of their first three semesters. Qualified for the honor are full-time students who have not previously attended another college or university for full-time study and have earned at least 42 credits in the three consecutive semesters as a student at Elizabethtown College or one of its affiliated programs. Selection for this award is based on completing and passing all assigned courses with no grade below a "C" and attaining an academic average of at least 3.4 for courses taken in the spring of 2015.
