Wilkes University Nesbitt School of Pharmacy Residency Matches for 2019

Wilkes University's Nesbitt School of Pharmacy continues to match student pharmacists seeking post-graduate residency training at a rate of 15 percent above the national average. Eighty percent of students and alumni from Wilkes University's Nesbitt School of Pharmacy were successfully matched into residency training programs in 2019. Twenty-six Wilkes students receiving the doctor of pharmacy degree in May 2019 were accepted into programs.

Recognition is Granted to Students Who Studied Abroad in Fall 2018

Muhlenberg encourages students in every major to study abroad while earning college credit towards their degree. In fact, 58 percent of Muhlenberg graduates from the Class of 2018 studied abroad. The College supports four discipline-specific study abroad opportunities as well as offering over 100 approved programs in Europe, Asia, Oceania, Latin America and Africa.

ESU to Graduate 1,187 Students at Three Commencement Exercises

A total of 1,187 students will receive degrees from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania at separate commencement exercises for undergraduate and graduate students on May 10 and May 11. ESU will hold three graduation ceremonies: one for graduate students on Friday, May 10 at 6:45 p.m. and two ceremonies for undergraduate students on Saturday, May 11. The undergraduate ceremonies will take place at 8:45 a.m. (College of Arts and Sciences and College of Education) and at 1:15 p.m. (College of Business and Management and College of Health Sciences). All three ceremonies will be held in Koehler Fieldhouse. A total of 995 bachelor's degrees, 188 master's degrees and four doctoral degrees will be awarded.

East Stroudsburg University Announces Speakers for 2019 Commencement

East Stroudsburg University will hold its commencement exercises on Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11 in Koehler Fieldhouse. The graduate commencement ceremony with take place Friday at 7 p.m. Evelyn Farah will be the student commencement speaker. Undergraduate ceremonies will take place on Saturday. The ceremony awarding bachelor's degrees from ESU's College of Arts and Sciences and College of Education will begin at 8:45 a.m. Philip P. Andujar will be the student speaker. The ceremony awarding bachelor's degrees from ESU's college of Business and Management and College of Health Sciences will begin at 1:45 p.m. Darian L. Cruz will be the student speaker. Lieutenant General Susan Lawrence (Ret.) will be the keynote speaker for both undergraduate ceremonies.

Natterman and Zweifel have Posters Accepted to 50th American Art Therapy Association Conference

Two Undergraduate, Art Therapy students had their research posters accepted to the 50th American Art Therapy Association Conference in Kansas City, Missouri. The students were invited to present their scholarly and creative work in the study of art therapy at the conference that will be held October 30 - November 3, 2019. Charlene Natterman's poster entitled Memory is Not Choice explores how art therapy enhances memory in older adults and Chris Zweifel's poster explores how Art Therapy Promotes Well-Being in Older Adults. Denise Wolf, Assistant Director of Art Therapy, will also be in attendance at the conference as co-presenter for both students.

Students Participate in Cedar Crest College's Presidential Inauguration

On Friday, April 26th, 2019, Dr. Elizabeth M. Meade was installed as the 14th President of Cedar Crest College. During the ceremony, The Voices of Inclusion Choral Ensemble performed, Jules Massenet provided a musical interlude, Morgan Maddock and Tori Lawton provided welcome speeches, and Salika Sadek, Rebecca Dolan, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Charles Gounod provided musical processions.

Students Participate in Lehigh County's Community Justice Panels

Senior Criminal Justice majors Madison Wellen and Chelsea Wilson and sophomore Criminal Justice majors Morgan Godshall, Victoria Kohn and Adrian Mast are panelists in Lehigh County's Community Justice Panels, a diversion program held on campus for juveniles charged for the first time with summary offenses and/or misdemeanors. The cases are sent by police departments, Magisterial District Judges and the Juvenile Probation Department. The students meet with the juvenile and his or her parents/guardians and discuss the incident, school achievement, future plans and other aspects of the juvenile's life and develop a contract for the youth with assignments which hold the juvenile accountable for his or her illegal actions as well as developing their competencies. If assignments are completed successfully, the charges are withdrawn. The program is supported by the Court of Common Pleas, The District Attorney's office and funded by the Juvenile Probation Department.

Eckroth and Fritz present "Life Changing Experiences of Tanzania"

Sophia Eckroth, a junior nursing major, along with Jennie Fritz, contributed her perspective to the LVAIC Global Student Conference by presenting "Life Changing Experiences of Tanzania". This was based on the study abroad trip through the Nursing Department. This trip in January left a special impact on her life personally and resulted in an eye-opening experience.

2019 Sophomore Expedition

The Sophomore Expedition is a guaranteed study abroad program. In the spring semester of their sophomore year, students participate in a series of classes to prepare them for the trip. Then they spend 8-10 days traveling as a class to an international destination where they participate in a number of service activites. This year they traveled to Athens, Greece.

Students on the dean's list are full-time undergraduate students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.60 or higher in 14 or more credit hours, of which at least 12 credits are letter-graded course work.

Cedar Crest College Admissions Ambassador Spring 2019

Admissions Ambassadors are responsible for assisting the Office of Admissions in its recruitment efforts. Ambassadors are a prospective students first impression of the student body and the college as a whole. Students who are selected for the Ambassador position are professional, reliable, a well-spoken member of the Cedar Crest community, and exemplify what it means to be a Cedar Crest student. Responsibilities include providing engaging and informative campus tours, clerical office duties during weekly office hours, assisting at all on-campus Admissions events, and attending all trainings. Ambassadors represent the institution at the highest level and are inspiring leaders who want to make an impact on a prospective students college decision.
